Thank you for purchasing the Yamaha CP Series, Stage Piano.

This Readme file contains important information about the CP88/CP73 V2.00 Operating System update and the updating process. 
Please read this document carefully before updating your CP stage piano.


NOTICE:
- This updater is only for the CP stage piano.
- This updater is to be used at the user's own risk.
- All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized by this updater. Please make sure that you have saved all User data to a USB flash drive before performing this update. 
- The unit may become inoperable if the electrical supply is interrupted while running the updater (by disconnecting the AC cord, etc.). If this happens, run the updater again from the first step. 
- If the unit does not function after running the updater, please contact your nearest Yamaha service center.

This update is applicable to the following version: 
CP88/CP73 with firmware versions earlier than V2.00


How to check the version of your CP

1. Press the [MENU] button.
2. Select the "Version Info" -> Press the [ENTER] button.
3. The following message appears on the screen:
    ----------------------------

    -----------------------------

The unit's version is indicated by "Firmware v*.**.*"
Only the numbers up to the two decimal places after the first dot are important in reading the version number, you can ignore the numbers after the second dot. 
Ex.) 1.02.0 =1.02 ,  1.10.0= 1.10


Updating Procedure

  NOTICE: 
     All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized by this updater. 
     Please make sure that you save all User data to a USB flash drive before performing this update. 
    

  Required Items
   - One USB flash drive of over 4GB capacity formatted on the CP

1. After downloading, copy the following uncompressed files to a USB flash drive that has been formatted on the CP. No other files should be present on the USB flash drive.

2. Power off the CP.

3. Connect the USB flash drive prepared in step 1 to the USB [TO DEVICE] terminal of the CP. Power on the CP while holding down the [MENU] and [STORE] buttons until the "YAMAHA" logo appears on screen.
   At this time, please do not press buttons other than [MENU] or [STORE] buttons.

4. The CP OS updater will begin with the message "Now loading." and the following.
    The "Current Ver" indicates the current version of the CP, and the "New" indicates the updater version.
    Press the [ENTER] button to proceed the update.
    Press the [EXIT] button to cancel.

          [EXIT]    : Reboot

5. After pressing the [ENTER] button, the following message will appear on the screen.
   Press the [ENTER] button again to execute the update. All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized.
   Press the [EXIT] button to cancel the update.

         [EXIT]     : Reboot

6. The following message will appear when the update is completed.
    Check the "Current Ver" is the updater version.

              Completed.
           Please turn off.
      -----------------------------

 NOTICE: 
 DO NOT power off or remove the USB flash drive from the CP until the "Completed. Please turn off." message appears. If power is accidentally interrupted while running the updater (by disconnecting the AC cord, etc.),
 the unit may become inoperable. If this happens, run the updater again. If the unit still does not function after doing this, please contact your nearest Yamaha service center.

7. Turn off the CP and remove the USB flash drive.

8. Power on the CP.

This completes the update process.

- Fixed a problem in which the CP may freeze during playing some Voices while using both the Sustain and Sostenuto pedals at the same time.

< V1.30 to V1.31 >
Fixed problems;
- Fixed the problem that CP would not power on when Local Control was set to off in V1.30.


< V1.20 to V1.30 >

- You can now store the Master EQ settings to the Live Set Sound.
- Operability has been improved.

- New Live Set Sounds have been added.

< V1.10 to V1.20 >
New features;
- Menus and parameters below Controllers have been added.
- You can now select menus with the LIVE SET [1]-[6] buttons.
- You can now initialize the current Live Set Sound with the [EXIT] button + [SETTINGS] button.

- You can now load a specific Live Set Sound from all data files.
