Participants Course

Each private lesson will be 40 minutes long and each participant will have three lessons during the term. Please note that you will not be able to take lessons from all five instructors, including Keiko Abe. Please indicate on the application form which instructor you would like, but please note that we may not be able to meet your request as a result of scheduling adjustments. Outside of lesson time, you can attend other people’s lessons and courses or practice in the practice room. All lessons are open to the public.

Auditors Course

Participants are free to listen to all lessons and courses.

Eligibility

Participants Course

Elementary school students and older who are aspiring to become performers or instructors.
If you select the duo lesson, each applicant shall fill out a separate application form, and these forms shall then be submitted together.

Auditors Course

Anyone of elementary school age or older can take part.

Deadline for applications

Apr. 30, 2025 this is a strict deadline for participants course
*Applicants will be notified directly of course availability by mid-May.

Application Process

Fill and submit the online application form including the audition video recording.

The video is of a free piece of music up to 15 minutes long, but please submit a video of the piece you wish to take lessons in.
We will use the performance videos to pre-screen 30 students (pairs) who will take lessons. Please upload your video to YouTube as a limited access video and enter the URL in the application form. Please put your name in the title of the video you upload to YouTube. If you cannot upload a video to YouTube, please send the video data in MP4 format to the secretariat as an email attachment. (However, it must be within 25MB.) If you are unable to submit video data by the above method due to an unavoidable reason, please send a DVD (not Blu-ray) to the secretariat by post.

* Submission of sound files for screening is only for those who wish to take the Participants Course. It is not required for the Auditors Course.
